Fire and Emergency New Zealand (Fenz) were notified of the incident at 11.51am involving one vehicle on State Highway 85
Emergency services were called to the scene to near the intersection of Omakau-Chatto Creek Rd and Corrigall Rd.
No one else was in the vehicle, a Fenz spokesman said.
St John spokeswoman Beverley Tse said the person was transported by helicopter to Dunedin Hospital in a serious condition
