The show attracted 700 entries, including 200 birds in the budgerigar section alone, and senior judge Monty Wright said he was impressed with both the turnout and standard of birds on show.
"I think they have done a really good job.
:This is one of the bigger shows and there has been a mixed collection of birds.
"I think it is great effort for the club's 50th. I have exhibited at every show since it started, but it is a pretty strong little club for an area the size of Oamaru," Mr Wright said.
