No-one was hurt when the driver of a small rental bus pulling a luggage trailer lost control of the vehicle and crashed on the Twizel-Omarama Rd, about 8km north of Omarama, shortly before 8.30am on Saturday.
Only two people, the driver and one passenger, were aboard the bus, which was heading for Queenstown, emergency service officials said.
The trailer detached from the bus and dropped down a 10m bank before coming to rest.
The road was reduced to one lane for a short time after the crash and Omarama volunteer firefighters helped with traffic control, officials said. No other details were available.
