North Otago residents are being urged to support local vendors and entertainers at the Oamaru Farmers Market and Harbourside Christmas Party on Friday, December 23.
Waitaki event development officer Jan Kennedy said shoppers should take the opportunity to stock their pantries with the finest, freshest local foods as close to Christmas Day as possible.
The farmers market will begin at 5pm, and feature regular vendors with farm-grown meats, fresh vegetables, new potatoes, strawberries and raspberries, relishes, jams, chutneys, sweet treats and more.
Wines of the Waitaki will also be available for tastings and purchase.
Carol singers, solo performers and bands Dog, Ruff, Johnny and the Cashtones and the Legends of Leith will help create a festive spirit on the last "unofficial" work day of the year.
