A slight adjustment has led to a projected rates rise of 3% for the Waitaki District Council in the next financial year.
The council will consider the 2015 16 budget as part of its 10 year long term plan at its meeting on Wednesday. Further consideration of some items has added $37,830, which lifts the overall rate increase from 2.9%, considered in December, to 3%.
If approved on Wednesday, the 2015 25 plan will go out for public consultation, and the council will call for submissions on March 18.
A joint staff report said this Wednesday's meeting was significant in the preparation of the plan.
Preparation of the long term plan, which has to be reviewed every three years, started in October 2013, shortly after the local body elections.
It went through a number of workshops, a retreat at Ohau at the beginning of last year and was finalised at a council meeting on December 10.
At that meeting councillors requested some further information on some items, which has led to the minor adjustment in the budget.
