The Woolstore on Oamaru's waterfront was transformed for a capacity crowd of 450 spectators and supporters dressed in their finest for the black-tie event featuring 10 bouts over three two-minute rounds.
Event organiser Kate Cartwright said the intensity and commitment of boxers was inspiring and their 12 weeks of hard work came to fruition in front of a ''hugely appreciative'' crowd.
All 10 bouts went to the judges' decision.
In the first bout, Chontelle ''Strong Wind'' Watson took on Waitaki district councillor ''Mischief'' Mel Tavendale. Ms Watson emerged victorious.
