Palmerston's Courtney Duncan, who was named promising newcomer (offroad) at the New Zealand Motorcycle Awards on November 29, showed the crowd that motocross is no longer a male-dominated sport, winning all her races in the series.
The 12-year-old finished first in the final race of the competition, in the junior 11 to 12 years 85cc class, winning that category 65 points ahead of her nearest rival, Oamaru's Joel Meikle.
In the senior class, the MX2 category was won by Christchurch's Justin McDonald, with Dunedin's Jeff Wilson coming in sixth and finishing the series with 168 points.
Cromwell's Samuel O‘Callaghan won the 12 to 16 years 125cc category with 253 points.
