The $1 million centre opening was attended by almost 100 people.
The money was raised by the East Otago Health Trust.
Donations included $150,000 from the Waitaki District Council.
The medical centre is fully staffed with three permanent doctors and four prime nurses who also work part time at the Waikouaiti medical centre.
