A person has been injured at a commercial premises at Omarama when a gas bottle exploded.
The accident is believed to have happened at a cafe on Pinot Noir Court.
The Omarama Volunteer Fire Brigade was called about 4.35pm yesterday to a reported lpg explosion, a Fire and Emergency New Zealand spokesman said.
‘‘Essentially, we treated a patient for burns, and they were then handed over to St John,’’ he said.
The commercial building where the explosion happened was not damaged, he said.
