The southbound truck left the road about 5.15am, coming to rest in a ditch.
The driver, a 22-year-old Christchurch man, was taken to Oamaru Hospital with minor injuries.
Police advise the road is still partially blocked and motorists should expect delays until it is cleared, expected to be about 10am.
There is no word yet on the cause of the crash.
