Waitaki mayor Alex Familton will don his cycle helmet and shorts today, for the Mayoral Challenge cycle ride.
The challenge gives New Zealand cities and towns the chance to vie for getting the most people out for a bike ride with their mayor.
Oamaru's event will start in the harbour area at the Tyne St car park at 6pm today.
Go By Bike Day will now be held on February 20, as part of the Cruise the Coast cycling event.
