The public will get a chance to make submissions on a plan to build a small wind farm near Milton.
New Zealand Windfarms Ltd lodged a resource consent application with the Clutha District Council last week to place up to nine turbines on a ridgeline at Mt Stuart, 10km west of Milton.
Reports yesterday the application may not be publicly notified were false, council planning and environment manager Murray Brass said.
The applicant was happy to have the application in the public arena, he said.
The council had just received the application and was making an initial assessment on whether it needs further information at this stage.
Once the council was satisfied with the information provided, it would publicly notify the application.
