Arrowtown rugby celebrates its own

If rugby truly is the winner, then Arrowtown's Nathan Pullar shone through on Saturday night at the club's annual prizegiving - gaining two of the top awards.

The hooker earned himself some impressive silverware to take home, being named player of the year as well as the players' player of the year by his fellow team-mates.

Flanker Daniel Dodds received honours in the forwards while first five Ian Dodds stood out in the backline.

The night began with a quiz hosted by entertainer Steve Wilde, of Queenstown, and in typical Arrowtown fashion things "got carried away", he said.

"It was absolutely chaotic in the end," said Mr Wilde, who dressed in one of player's uniforms.

Up to 80 players and supporters showed up for the celebrations which went well into the early morning at the Athenaeum Hall in Arrowtown.
