It's time to take the bow-ties, heels and ball gowns out of the closet and roll out the red carpet for the Queenstown Young Professionals' gala ball evening on Saturday, November 19.

The Lobby Bar at the Hilton Hotel will host an expected 80-100 guests with nibbles, entertainment and prizes for the best-dressed.

QYP president Joel Peasey said 50 tickets had been sold so far.

"For many, it's an opportunity to get dressed up for the first time since their high school ball."

Mr Peasey said invitations were extended to non-members as well as members.

Secretary Olivia Crisp said it was a good chance for young people to promote themselves professionally.

For $65, each guest will be served complimentary canapes and drinks from 8pm to 10pm.

Local trio the GCs will play and professional photographer Dan Childs will snap the glamour of the evening.
