The cat's whiskers

Queenstown Cat Rescue Trust supporters (from left) web designer Kirsty Bowden, Subculture owner-operator Michelle Crowley, volunteer Chris Noonan, trust co-founder Ruth de Reus, holding a painting by a saved cat, co-founder Julia Milley, volunteer Eve Westra and cat fosterer Julie O'Connor raised about $2000 at the Cool Catz Jazz Night on Saturday.

A live jazz trio, a DJ set, a silent art auction and raffles were laid on at Subculture to mark the trust's one-year anniversary and to raise funds for the approaching kitten season.
