Organisations have been given a deadline of November 21 to provide details of their worthy cause.
Event director Victoria Murray-Orr said in a media release this week the third annual long-distance triathlon had attracted record entries and 400 volunteers were needed to help with the race and the festival from January 11 to 17.
"It's also wonderful Challenge Wanaka has inspired so many people to take up the sport."
