Children were disappointed they could not ride Alpine Aqualand's fast hydroslide over the weekend after it was closed for safety reasons.
Gus Wood and Louie Salek said it was a pity they could not go on the fast slide but added they had had plenty of runs on the slow slide for a reduced price of $2.
Some parents spoken to by the Otago Daily Times were relieved Alpine Aqualand management had closed the slide after several customers received minor injuries on the slide.
Louie's mother, Michelle, said it was good the management was adhering to safety precautions, adding children were still having fun at Alpine Aqualand.
"The boys still had a good time. We still stayed there for hours, as we usually do," she said.
The hydroslide was also closed last December after Lakes Leisure confirmed up to 69 customers had received minor injuries since it opened on May 31, 2008.
Lakes Leisure closed the slide again on Friday after the Department of Labour responded to a complaint from a woman in her 20s who received minor concussion and shoulder injuries on the slide on May 17 despite adhering to new safety measures.
Lakes Leisure facilities manager Cam Sheppard said the slide would be closed until a safety review was carried out.
The review would look at the slide's design, corners and water flow.
It is understood one of the corners in particular had caused some customers to bang their heads in some of the recent incidents.
