In this week's Off Piste, Coronet Peak food and beverage attendant Ethan Heng, of Malaysia, shares some of the experiences from his first season in Queenstown.

Name: Ethan Heng.

Job title: Coronet Peak food and beverage attendant.

Q) How many seasons have you done in the job and why did you choose it?

A) First season. I wanted to learn how to do a back-flip snowboarding.

Q) How would you describe the work?

A) Intense, exciting and fun.

Q) What's the best thing about it?

A) The scenery from my workplace.

Q) And the worst thing?

A) Looking out at the mountain makes me want to go out riding more.

Q) How are you settling in to life in Queenstown?

A) It's a real party town and different from where I come from, but that's a good thing.

Quite a cultural difference.

There are more English than Kiwis in Queenstown, but I'm loving it.

Q) What's the best advice you have for people moving to Queenstown for seasonal work?

A) You have to be hard-working and adaptable.

Q) What has been your most amusing skifield experience to date?

A) When I went out with an instructor friend one time and he took me to a black run.

The first run went well, but the second I did about three somersaults on the way down.
