A 20-year-old Wellington man was arrested and charged with assaulting a woman who allegedly asked to stop him urinating on the street in Queenstown early yesterday.
Sergeant Blair Duffy, of Queenstown, said the woman saw the man urinating on Beach St at 1.10am.
"The woman approached him to tell him to stop and he pushed her and kicked over a bin full of glass. He picked up a bottle and made towards her before being subdued by members of the public," he said.
The man was restrained until police arrived. He was charged with assaulting a female and disorderly behaviour and will appear in the Queenstown District Court on Monday.
Two Queenstown men were arrested and charged with assaulting two bouncers at the World Bar after being refused entry at 1.30am yesterday. The two men, aged 25 and 23, will appear in the Queenstown District Court on Monday.
Sgt Duffy said the resort was very busy on St Patrick's Day, but generally revellers were well behaved.
"It was equivalent to a typical Saturday night. It seems to have been locals that let us down," he said.
In a separate incident, Queenstown police arrested an Auckland couple yesterday morning for obtaining accommodation and services at Millbrook Resort by deception.
The couple, in their early twenties, allegedly ran up a $2500 bill at the resort.
"They provided details of their credit card but after a credit check staff found they didn't have enough credit for their stay," he said.
