Jazz Night will boast songstress LA Mitchell, plus young jazz dub funk roots trio Coast, Vanessa Kelly's jazzy blues vocals, funk-fuelled band Eru Dangerspeil and dub hip-hop and jazz blending outfit Sola Rosa at the Skyline complex.
Soul jazz songstress Mitchell has established herself with two solo albums, but has also played in rock band Dukes and in Dave Dobbyn's touring band. She has opened for Stevie Wonder in New Zealand, for Dobbyn in Europe, toured nationwide as part of Fly My Pretties and collaborates with the Sunshine Sound System and Oakley Grenell.
Coast hails from the east coast but moved to Auckland to join forces with Loop's Mikee Tucker (Trinity Roots, the Black Seeds, Fly My Pretties).
Coast won the 2008 Eastern Bay Battle of the Bands and the 2009 Auckland Rock to the Top competition.
Kelly has gone on from winning the 2000 New Zealand Music Award for most promising female vocalist to work with Robbie Williams, Brooke Fraser and appear in Shortland St.
Funk and psychedelic rhythm and blues merchants Eru Dangerspeil are led by former Trinity Roots' drummer and percussionist Riki Gooch, and features Mara TK (Electric Wire Hustle, Fly My Pretties), with MC Future and Fat Freddy's Drop keyboardist Iain Gordon.
Sola Rosa has emerged from Andrew Spraggon's one-man project in 1999 to a multi award-winning live band, with three albums to its name. The collective includes DJ Spikey Tee.
