Queenstown will receive prime-time exposure in Wales before the Rugby World Cup, following a perfectly-timed visit by three Welsh players to the resort.
Jonathan Thomas, Huw Bennett and Ian Gough took time from their hectic schedules last week to visit Queenstown, after their fixtures against the All Blacks.
RWC 2011 chief executive Martin Snedden said the Welsh team spent most of its time in Hamilton and Wellington, where the team will spend most of its time next year.
"They spent as much time scouting as they did worrying about playing against the All Blacks," Mr Snedden said.
However, as part of Destination Queenstown's international media programme, the three Welsh players were brought to the resort during the Queenstown Winter Festival and made a 30-minute documentary which would feature Queenstown on prime-time Welsh television.
It is understood the documentary will air in a sought-after time slot, between back-to-back episodes of Coronation Street.
DQ media adviser Gizelle Regan said the players were "blown away" by the resort.
"They had no idea of the beauty, or what the town has to offer and they are heading back to spread the word."
