Wanaka police have yet to find a culprit in an alleged serious sexual assault in the women's toilets of the Mint Bar on Monday night.
Detective Dave Evans said yesterday police had interviewed many of the people who had been at the bar that night "but we haven't got to a person who we would have thought would be a person of interest".
Det Evans wants to identify and talk to a young Caucasian male who was seen in the toilets from about 11.45pm on Monday to about 12.15am on Tuesday.
Det Evans declined to describe the clothing the man was wearing.
Security camera footage is being followed up.
"We are still working on it and I am hopeful we will resolve this issue. I am concerned about the nature of the assault," he said.
The 22-year-old female complainant is a New Zealander and was a visitor to Wanaka.
The woman was traumatised but she had not been physically injured, Det Evans said.
