Driver hospitalised after car crashes into pole

A car ploughed into a power pole in Queenstown in the early hours of Sunday morning.

The driver and sole occupant was taken to Dunedin Hospital and later transferred to Christchurch.

The crash occurred at around 4.30am, near the intersection with Domain Road.

Queenstown police said investigations were continuing, but it was believed no other vehicle was involved.
