Finals for new ice hockey league

The national finals of New Zealand’s new Premier Ice Hockey League — partly aimed at developing up-and-coming players — take place at the Queenstown Ice Arena over the next three days.

Teams who’ve won the right to represent Queenstown, Dunedin, Christchurch and Auckland play a round robin, followed by a final between the two top teams on Sunday at 1pm.

he local team play Dunedin tomorrow at 7pm, then Canterbury and Auckland on Saturday at 9am and 4.45pm, respectively.
