Info evening on contracts to be held

Business owners from the Wakatipu trade industry are being encouraged to join an information evening on Thursday about the importance of having employment agreements.

The meeting is organised by the Central Branch of the Brick and Blocklayers' Association on the initiative of business owner Branden Gunst, in co-operation with law firm Berry and Co.

Mr Gunst told the Queenstown Times he had been inspired to arrange the event after his own negative experiences with staff relations.

He will talk to those attending about the reasons for having the formalities such as employment agreements in place, and the lawyers will give practical information and tips to the business owners.

A base employment contract from Berry and Co will be raffled among the attending businesses.

As space is limited at the venue, interested companies are encouraged to register by telephone on (03) 449-3140, by fax on (03) 449-3144, or by going to ian@viblock.co.nz to send an email.

The Central Branch of the Brick and Blocklayers' Association information evening will be held at the Wakatipu Rugby Club Rooms, next to the Memorial Hall in Queenstown, on Thursday at 7.30pm. Admission is free of charge.
