Man taken to hospital after Queenstown assault

A man was treated in hospital after being assaulted in central Queenstown yesterday.

Senior Sergeant Paula Enoka, of Queenstown, said the man was taken to Lakes District Hospital after being punched in the face by a 32-year-old man in Brian Smith Park, in Shotover St, about 4.30pm.

The victim was discharged in the evening.

The alleged offender will appear in the Queenstown District Court today.

Also appearing is a 19-year-old Dunedin man who allegedly assaulted two men in The Mall about 1.15am yesterday.

The victims suffered minor bruising from single punches to the head, Snr Sgt Enoka said.
