A Frankton man has been charged with serious assault after taking exception to his neighbour’s coughing on Saturday night.
Queenstown police area response manager Senior Sergeant Glenn Wilkinson said the 47-year-old became so incensed by the noise coming from the unit next door, he confronted the male occupant about 10.30pm.
He began punching and kicking the victim as soon as he opened his door, Sen Sgt Wilkinson said.
The victim suffered minor injuries.
The man was due to appear in the Queenstown District Court yesterday on a charge of assault with intent to injure.
