Emergency services are attending a crash involving two truck and trailer units on the Temuka River bridge just south of Temuka on State Highway One.
SH1 has been closed at the scene and is expected to remain closed for several hours.
Details are scarce; however, it is believed injuries have resulted from the accident.
The following detours are in place:
Southbound traffic: from SH1 in Temuka, west on to Waitohi Temuka Road, south on Epworth Road through to Station Road, and then east along Station Road back on to SH1.
(Opposite direction for Northbound traffic)
