Members of the Balclutha volunteer fire brigade were sent to fight a small bush fire on a section in town today.
A fire communications spokesperson said the "garden rubbish" fire happened on a section in Newarp St.
Two appliances were sent to the scene about 1.15pm and the fire was extinguished by 2pm.
It was unclear whether the fire was supposed to be a controlled fire or not.
