From English high society to wartime comedy - the South Otago Theatrical Society has changed tack for its main 2009 production.
After struggling to find a suitable choreographer for its Me and My Girl show, the society's committee has decided to stage Dad's Army later this year.
Society production manager Lorraine McLean said the society was thrilled the original show's director, Geof Smith, having just finished the Dad's Army show in Dunedin, was prepared to introduce the stage version of the television series to South Otago theatre audiences.
Auditions will be held at the society's clubrooms on March 28 and 29, with rehearsals starting at the end of April.
The show will be staged during the first week of August.
