A Milton dairy has backed down and says it will not stock the legal high Kronic following a visit from Clutha Mayor Bryan Cadogan yesterday.
The dairy owner said Mr Cadogan visited the store yesterday morning and asked the owners not to sell Kronic.
"It's not illegal to sell Kronic. We're not selling it but if the mayor wants to stop people from selling it, then he should send out a leaflet, not visit store owners," she said.
She said the dairy would no longer order the legal high.
Mr Cadogan said he met the owners of the dairy yesterday and asked them to withdraw their order of Kronic.
"I'm glad they changed their minds. I don't want to do a name and shame unless people are selling it."
Earlier this week, Mr Cadogan urged dairy owners not to sell the social drug, and said he would protest outside stores that did.
"The day after I hear that Kronic is sold there, I will be there, outside the dairy."
