One person was critically injured after a car rolled on State Highway 1 near Waihola just before 8pm this evening.
A police spokeswoman said the crash has closed the highway near the intersection with Titri Rd and diversions were being put in place.
Another person in the vehicle received serious injuries and both victims were transported to Dunedin Hospital via rescue helicopter, she said.
The Serious Crash Unit was investigating.
The crash is the fourth serious incident on roads near Dunedin after a horror Saturday which has seen 11 people injured.
