The onset of autumn and recent rainfall have prompted the Clutha District Council to lift summer water restrictions across the district.
The restrictions, which banned watering between 8am and 8pm, were introduced in December.
Council water services manager Hank Stocker said the council would look at reintroducing seasonal restrictions next summer if weather conditions demanded it.
The council has three stages of water restrictions but only introduced the first phase this summer.
The other stages involve banning sprinklers and hoses at all times.
"While many of the district's water schemes have plentiful sources, restrictions are standard during times of high demand because the treatment plants and pipe capacity of the schemes restrict the amount of water that can be delivered to consumers," Mr Stocker said.
Despite the restrictions being lifted, he urged consumers to avoid wasting water at any time and to report any leaks.
"There is obviously a cost involved to treat and supply all water, even when there is no shortage."
