Forklift crash downs power lines in Invercargill

A forklift has crashed into a power pole, bringing down power lines in Invercargill this morning.

A Fire and Emergency New Zealand spokesman said crews from Invercargill and Kingswell stations were called to reports of a downed power line in Benmore St about 9.40am today.

It appeared a forklift had crashed into a power pole, the spokesman said.

No injuries were reported, crews assisted with scene safety and the scene was left in the hands of the building occupant and the power authority, the spokesman said.
