From the ground up

ILT chief executive Chris Ramsay (left), Leighs Construction senior project manager Paul Brailey, Leighs Construction site manager Phil Pasco and ILT chairman Alan Dennis take in the view from the fourth floor of The Langlands Hotel construction site in Invercargill yesterday.

Mr Brailey said that, if anything, the foundation stage was "the easy bit".

"There’s a massive amount of material set to come into Invercargill in the new year for the fit out — from doors to windows, carpet, joinery ... We worked hard as a team, with the ILT to make decisions early to avoid any risks [of Covid-19 delays]."

Our journalists are your neighbours

We are the South's eyes and ears in crucial council meetings, at court hearings, on the sidelines of sporting events and on the frontline of breaking news.

As our region faces uncharted waters in the wake of a global pandemic, Otago Daily Times continues to bring you local stories that matter.

We employ local journalists and photographers to tell your stories, as other outlets cut local coverage in favour of stories told out of Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch.

You can help us continue to bring you local news you can trust by becoming a supporter.
