One person with serious injuries has been flown to Dunedin Hospital by helicopter following a crash between a truck and a ute near Gore.
Police were called at 6.10pm on Thursday following reports of the collision on State Highway 1 - the Gore Mataura highway - between Charlton Ln and Falconer Rd, a police spokeswoman said.
The road was closed for a time but was open again by 9.30pm.
The Police Serious Crash Unit has been advised.
The cause of the crash was not yet known, but SCU staff would examine the scene and an investigation will look at the circumstances, the police spokeswoman said.
