A man is going to be flown to Dunedin Hospital with serious injuries after a truck crashed into a power pole on the Dipton-Winton Highway this afternoon.
A police spokeswoman said they were called to the scene, just south of Dipton, about 1.10pm.
The man was critically injured in the crash, she said.
The power pole was badly damaged.
A St John spokeswoman said paramedics preparing the man to be taken to Dunedin Hospital by helicopter at just before 2.40pm.
NZTA have issued a warning saying the road was down to one lane 2km south of Dipton because of the crash.
