A beloved Southland children’s festival has returned to the region with more than 100 activities on offer.

Hundreds of children were eagerly awaiting a day full of activities and fun at ILT Kidzone Festival at Southland Girls’ High School yesterday.

From Zorbs to cooking workshops and carousels, there was something for all tastes and ages.

The theme for this year’s festival was "Make, Create, Play".

Festival operations manager Hannah Wallis said families could expect a magical experience.

"And it’s not just for the kids. Live out your childhood fantasies, get that funky hair-do, weave some flax, and bring out your inner Picasso," she said.

The event runs until Monday.
