The Gore Town and Country club was home to a ton of fun last weekend, at the Southland Plunket "Super Saturday" event.

The event was a chance for young families to come out and get their children checked up with immunisations, dental checks and wellness examinations.

But it was also a social and fun day out and the auditorium was packed out with activities and games.

Young families responded well to the event and over 200 people came through, alongside massive support from local organisations.

Community services manager Catherine Caley said it was a fantastic day, with a chance for young families to get out, have a good time and get a valuable service.

"We were really happy with how the day went.

"There were lots of opportunities to connect with families, they made connections, appointments, very, very happy with the day," she said.

Mrs Caley thanked all of the organisations involved, the volunteers and everyone who made the day so successful, as well as the Gore Town and Country Club for their "generous support".
