The Edendale Primary School community will hold a three-day event in January 2025 to mark the milestone.
Principal David McKenzie said planning for the event was under way.
"Hitting 150 years of educational service to our community is a significant milestone that is worthy of a real celebration."
A school was one of the central community hubs that drew people together around a common good, the education of children.
"A jubilee is a time to gather once again, drawing people together across decades, to remember and celebrate.
"This is very special and valuable, giving a sense of belonging and connectedness."
Jubilee events will start on Friday, January 17 when attendees will register and when a formal welcome will be held followed by a meet and greet.
On Saturday a community celebration picnic will be held with photographs and some formalities followed up by a evening meal that included speeches.
Then on Sunday the jubilee will finish with a thanksgiving service and a light social gathering.
A registration of interest form is live on the school’s website which will be followed up by a full registration in mid May 2024.
