Sworn in, roles given, new term begins now

The new look Gore District Council was inaugurated yesterday afternoon in a packed council chambers, with not only fresh faces but new roles.

Returning Mayor Ben Bell announced Cr Joe Stringer would be the deputy mayor for this term and existing committees would be transitioning to portfolios, with various councillors taking on roles such as assets, infrastructure and communications.
