India were 252 for two in their second innings at stumps on the fourth day of the second cricket test against New Zealand at McLean Park in Napier today.

India, asked to follow on yesterday after conceding a 314-run first innings deficit, still require another 62 runs before they get in credit.

Opener Gautam Gambhir batted throughout the day and was unbeaten on 102 from 290 balls - his fifth test century. Sachin Tendulkar was not out 58.

Rahul Dravid, who scored 62, was the only wicket to fall today after India resumed on 47 for one.

New Zealand made 619 for nine declared in their first innings before India replied with 305 yesterday.
