Cricket: Warne burns fingers on bowling hand

The Melbourne Stars are confident Shane Warne will have recovered from badly burnt fingers on his bowling hand in time to play in their opening Big Bash League clash against Sydney Thunder on Saturday.

The Stars insist Warne was never going to take part in Monday's practice match against the Melbourne Renegades at the MCG.

Warne posted a photo on Twitter of his hand, showing large blisters on three of his fingers with his little finger the worst affected.

"Not ideal preparation for practice match today - burning the bowling hand. Get better quickly please, any suggestions HELP," he wrote.
