Oamaru, Union and Waitaki Boys’ enjoyed comfortable victories in the latest round of Borton Cup cricket.
At Centennial Park, Glenavy was bowled out in the 27th over for 72 against home team Oamaru.
Zach Graham (20 not out) was the only one who showed any resistance as Oamaru made frequent inroads into the batting, Quinn Wardle taking three for 20 and Nick Johnston two for 17.
Oamaru cruised through to victory in the ninth over. Regan George (45 not out) and Stephan Grobler (25 not out) ensured their team did not lose a wicket.
Albion batted against Union and made 112 all out in the 31st over.
Amal Ashok top-scored with 36 while Ravi Lalia reached 23. The evergreen Duncan Drew took five for 20 for Union.
Union reached the required target in the 18th over for the loss of five wickets.
Jesse Valpy top-scored with 29 not out, supported by Thomas Anderson (22) and Kane Mclauchlan (23 not out). For Albion, Tom Squire took two for 22 and Aneesh Bose two for 37.
In contrast to the other games, the runs flowed for Waitaki Boys’ as it belted 292 and beat Valley by 136 runs.
Hunter Wardle (49) and Joshua Miller (24) made runs early in the innings, while Logan Wilson made a superb 114 in the middle order that helped his team reach the imposing total before the innings wrapped in the 46th over.
Jaden Dowling scored 38. in the lower order.
Ben Mavor led the Valley attack with three for 34, while Jake Matthews added two for 44 and Jack Cameron two for 51.
Despite opener Jack Price getting 74, and Isaac Clunie chipping in with 28, Valley was always struggling, and it was dismissed for 156 in the 31st over.
Billy Wilson starred for the Waitaki attack with five for 34, his first five-wicket bag for the season. Lochie Mavor had three for 43.
