Wellington Phoenix coach Chris Greenacre says his team were "nowhere near the pace" after crashing to a 4-0 loss to Macarthur FC on Friday night in their final game of a difficult A-League season.
The Phoenix trailed 3-0 at halftime in a one-sided contest in Sydney and went on to suffer their biggest defeat since Greenacre took over from Giancarlo Italiano two months ago.
Yesterday, Sydney FC and Auckland FC drew 2-2 in Sydney.
Guillermo May equalised twice for the visitors, in the 67th and 90th minutes.
Adelaide United’s 2-1 win against Melbourne City FC last night means Auckland FC finishes the regular season in third. The New Zealand side will host Melbourne City for their elimination final. — RNZ/Allied Media
