Looking a yard sharper than Roslyn, coach Steve Fleming's side ticked all the boxes in a superb display of attacking football.
On the near perfect turf, Caversham stroked quality passes around, supported in numbers and always looked dangerous around Roslyn's penalty area.
"It's been a great season, and this was a fitting final," Fleming said.
Fleming named import Dave Dugdale his man of the match but stressed that it was consistent teamwork that had earned his side the Otago Daily Times-sponsored premier league title as well as the SIFC trophy.
Roslyn's excellent win last week against Mainland champion Nelson, which had been unbeaten at home for three seasons, might have emptied the team's tank.
Certainly, player-coach Terry Boylan agreed Caversham was a worthy winner on the day and, apart from a sparky start and a predictably fiery finish, Roslyn did not fire for most of the game.
From an early right-wing corner, centreback Dave Shaw headed strongly just over Caversham's crossbar and Sean Brand charged down a clearance, but thereafter keeper Liam Little was unemployed for long periods.
In contrast, Roslyn keeper Peter Evans was continually under pressure and had to face what looked like a soft penalty awarded by Christchurch referee Paul Dalziel after 25min which escalated into a near roughhouse.
After Robbie Deeley scored from the spot, keeper Evans kicked the ball in frustration and it hit Tim Cook on the back of the head, felling the Caversham player who lay horizontal while team-mates remonstrated at Evans.
Roslyn's shares dipped lower shortly afterwards, when Hannan Hustan diverted a cross into his own net, and they really plummeted when Jeremy Wild scored with a scorching 25m shot that hit Roslyn's net like a missile.
Roslyn, having conceded two goals in 4min, trudged off at half-time with a mountain to climb in the second half.
Early in the second spell, another bizarre goal pushed Caversham further ahead when a miss-hit smashed into centreback Liam Dunbar's face and first to the loose ball was Tom Jackson, who happily drilled Caversham into a 4-0 lead.
With not a lot to defend, Roslyn pushed forward, and Brand, Ant Hancock and Ben Keat fired shots at keeper Little.
As Mike Eisenhut and Tim Dalman came on as substitutes, Caversham was finally forced to defend.
In some ragged play, Croydon Wheeler missed from a handy position, then Eisenhut carved through, but Caversham showed its superior finishing power when Dave Dugdale spun in mid air and acrobatically rammed in a close range shot that made the score 5-0.
Shortly afterwards Dugdale showed his class, calmly juggling the ball past attempted tackles before making the score 6-0.
Eventually, Roslyn got on the board when Dalman showed pace to dart between defenders and hit an acutely-angled shot that ruined keeper Little's clean sheet.
