Joel Moon has been called up to replace the injured Lewis Brown in the centres for the Warriors' 19th-round NRL match with the Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs in Auckland's Mount Smart Stadium on Friday night.
With Brown out for up to four weeks with an ankle injury, the 23-year-old Moon returns to the side for his 75th NRL appearance, his first since playing in each of the club's first three matches of the season.
Since then the former Brisbane Bronco has been playing with several other squad members for the well-performed Auckland Vulcans in the New South Wales Cup.
He was again among the team's try scorers in their 40-24 win against Balmain-Ryde on Saturday, a result that ensured the Vulcans remained second in the minor premiership race. In all he has scored seven tries for the Vulcans during their successful campaign.
Apart from Moon's recall to replace Brown, Warriors coach Ivan Cleary today named the same side used in last Friday night's 22-6 win against Gold Coast with Steve Rapira again named on a five-man bench.
"The Vulcans have been going great this season," said Cleary.
"We keep a close eye on how the team's going and Joel has kept working hard for them during the year. With Lewie out injured, he has earned a chance to come back into the side for what is another really important game for us.
"We got the result we needed against the Titans but we'll have to be stronger in all areas this week."
The Warriors now sit sixth in the NRL, moving up a spot on points for and against after the Newcastle Knights slipped back a position following their 12-22 loss to North Queensland last night.
On Friday night they face a Bulldogs side running 11th just two points back on 18.
After prop Jacob Lillyman played his 50th game for the club last week, hooker Aaron Heremaia will make his 50th NRL appearance on Friday night and veteran centre Shaun Berrigan will play his 199th first-grade match.
With three goals against the Titans last week, James Maloney took his points tally for the season to 105 and needs only seven more points to reach 300 career points.
