The kings of freestyle motocross entertained a crowd of about 7500 with their fourth show on their "Unleash Hell" New Zealand tour and their second stop in Dunedin in three years.
Black jeans and sunglasses were the order of the day for many fans but there were also plenty of families and young admirers.
While the pre-show entertainment was provided by the Crusty Babes and willing volunteers from the audience, the crowd only became animated when the 12 young riders revved their throttles and emerged from camouflage tents.
Then followed nearly two hours of spectacular stunts, culminating in Australian star Cam Sinclair performing the double backflip to a chorus of gasps and cheers.
There was also a ride-off between three Australian riders and "Team New Zealand", led by 17-year-old Levi Sherwood, from Palmerston North, and two of the American riders.
Sherwood, who rode part of the show wearing a Highlanders jersey, was a popular winner of the "whip" contest, where the riders had to jump, twist their bikes to a side-on position and then land normally.
Other popular tricks were the "jackhammer", where the rider stands up mid-jump with his feet under the handlebars, and the "superman", where he lets go of the bike briefly and extends his body behind it.
One of the biggest cheers in the night was reserved - ironically - for the only member of the troupe on two wheels without a motor, a BMX rider who performed a front flip.
And the loudest boo was saved for Australian star Blake "Bilko" Williams, who wore a Brumbies jersey during the team challenge and was toting an inflatable sheep.
The Crusty Demons perform in Christchurch on Wednesday, with subsequent shows in Hamilton, Auckland, New Plymouth and Nelson.
