Silver Ferns captain Ameliaranne Ekenasio will miss the Nations Cup in January, after requesting to sit out of the start of their 2024 campaign.
The 32-year-old, who has 70 caps to her name, played a big role for the Silver Ferns in the Netball World Cup, Taini Jamison Trophy and Constellation Cup this season.
Silver Ferns trials started on Sunday and the Nations Cup team will be announced next Thursday. A touring captain for the Nations Cup, starting on January 20, will be named later.
