Orienteering: Knarston grabs another top-20 finish

New Zealand orienteer Greta Knarston scored her third top 20 finish at a junior world championships in Italy this morning (NZtime).

Racing a technically and physically challenging long distance course at Paso Rolle in the Dolomites, Knarston finished 19th, eight minutes behind Danish winner, Ida Bobach.

Teammate Kate Morrison ran the race of her life, at one stage coming through the radio control in sixth place.

She eventually finished 22nd, 22 seconds behind Knarston.

Best of the New Zealand men was Tom Reynolds whoc claim 31st place of the 150 runners, behind winning Swede Gustave Bergman.

The middle distance race qualifications are to be held at San Martino tomorrow and the finals on Friday. Relays will be run on Saturday.
